Before my friend Jr's surprise birthday party yesterday (if you want to see what happened at the birthday, click
HERE), I passed by Suesh (located at Trinoma) and bought two important tools for my makeup business. Since I am often busy, I sometimes run out of time in cleaning my makeup brushes. But all makeup artist know that hygiene is very important most specially in keeping your makeup brushes clean because we use it on our face.
Before this day, I used to clean my brushes using a baby shampoo and water. In a way, the process is hard because I have to ensure that all the dirt are removed. Most of the time, I have to do another round of cleaning.
I bought Parian Spirit, Professional Makeup artist brush cleaner and a new mixing plate for my liquid foundations. I am satisfied with the mixing plate just because I've been meaning to buy one ever since I started this extra career.

Mixing Plate- 650 Php |

Makeup Brush Cleaner- 340 Php |

340 Php is a bit pricey for a brush cleaner but considering the less stress it would give you when cleaning your brushes, it must be good. I tried it and here is what happened.
First, I sprayed it directly on the bristles of my makeup brush and started rubbing it on a paper tissue. I was surprised that the dirt was sticking on the tissue like magic! It was indeed an easier way of cleaning makeup brushes because you do not need to wet your brushes with water which can sometimes remove the glue that holds all the bristles together. For the smaller brushes, I got a small cap and placed a small amount of the brush cleaner and just dipped the bristles before rubbing it on the tissue paper. Everything went to the tissue! It was that easy.

I can say that this is a good buy! If you know other brush cleaner that works the same or far better, let me know too! I would love to try out other brands as long as they work. For now, I am happy with my purchase. :)
Huh? Isn’t it February already?!!
Yup! This is just a late post. Been busy with life lately so I am posting this. It’s not entirely a capsule for January since it’s just a single event. I’ll just make it better next time. HAHA.
This is what happened on Diane and Alex’s Photo shoot.
Each of us possesses characteristics or features that make us stand out from the crowd. It could be your eyes, your nose, your cheekbones, your smile, your hair or a combination of all of these. Since I am the first born, I grew up having tons of pictures at a very young age. I then realize what my best features are and have learned to accept that my other features were part of me being human, imperfect but still beautifully crafted by God.
Puberty was the time when I learned how to be creative. Stage plays brought out the makeup artists in me. And from that time, I have always loved making people more beautiful!
This December of course is not an exception. With all the Christmas parties from left to right, I enjoyed having a busy December with my Clients.
My most challenging task was doing the 1950s hairstyle. I haven’t really gone through formal Hairstyling school so I really had to study how to do it.

And one of my favorites was the NO OTHER WOMAN makeups I did for my friend Nenz and her colleague. It was really fun seeing both of them- I really felt like I did a makeup for Kara and Charmaine. =)

And here are pictures of us together.

And lastly, my sister attended her Christmas party and was in the mood of saving money going to a parlor. Thus, she made use of the available resource she has- her eldest sister’s talent! I did her makeup and helped her choose what to wear too. Oh how I love the end result of her look!

Special thanks to Say Artillero for the boxes of false eyelashes I bought from her from the Trinket Bazaar. And for my sister’s necklace, we got it from Tinderella love Brazillda.
It’s fulfilling to see happy clients. This has not only been just a hobby, it has developed to a passion to help other people realize how beautiful they are. A makeup can further show the brilliant personality one has. What makes one beautiful is not just the physical features but also their radiating personality!

It’s no secret to everyone that I got my hair curled. A lot of people have been asking where I had it done so I am posting this to share it.
My digital perm was done by Affascinante Salon. They have a Halloween promo till November 2 so I suggest you grab the opportunity and get a schedule. Their hair rebonding or digital perming costs 2.5k for any hair length. Go! You can check their Facebook page here. It’s very easy to get to their Salon. Just take the LRT and get off Vito Cruz station. Beside Jollibee, take a pedicab and tell the “manong” to take you to Royal World Mansion.
My hair was rebonded more than a year ago before I finally decided that I’ve had it with the repeated rebonds whenever my natural hair started to show. Thus, for the first time, I had my hair digital permed. Although I was the first in- last out in the Salon, the result was satisfying.
It took long but I am pleased that they tested a portion of my hair first to see if the process would work for me (since my hair got rebonded). No need to worry because they do not do this to all customers. With that, at least I know that they mean customer service. And speaking of customer service, the moment I sat down and got my hair checked, they gave me a glass of iced tea. They do that for all their customers. Isn’t that superb?! The owner was so nice and so were the other helpers. Since it took me a longer time to finish, they even gave me a cupcake which saved me from hunger after sitting for 6 or 7 hours.
I’ve always had my hair straight. A lot of people are still getting used to seeing my hair curled. Digital perming can be damaging to the hair so I am taking extra precautions to make sure I do not harm my locks further.

The curls
Here are the products I bought for my Goldilocks…
- Loreal Smooth-Intense Caring Shampoo (99 Php)

- Pantene Nature Care – I use this when I am just at home to keep my hair and curls moisturized.

- Finesse Curl Defining Mousse – this doesn’t have that hard texture that I hate because it feels as if I’ve sprayed “spray net” on my curls. This one creates a soft texture but still keeps the curls intact. (329 Php)

Since I am a lazy girl, these curls work for me because I can just put these products and look like I just got out of the salon everyday!
If I were you, try it!
